KIVA JOHNS ADKINS – Guest on Twitter Tuesday Live 2nd August 2011

Ok so skype was so good to me today – NOT, once again I sounded like I had a lisp! Oh boy!! Anyway im so over it, so moving on!

Mark and I had the pleasure to meet KIVA JOHNS ATKINS today, an indie journalist from Kentucky! And yes I did ask her about Colonel Sanders!!!!! I couldn’t help myself!

Kiva, as well as being a busy mum, has a great passion for writing and unlike me, is good at it!!!!.she also loves meeting Indie bands and writing about them. She has written about several of our guests that we have had on Twitter Tuesday Live. She says it’s a career without being paid!

Kiva told us how  her passion for the TWILIGHT movies came to bring her to where she is now, writing about Indie musicians.

Before she started writing for Indie bands, she has written on a fan fiction writing stories about Twilight. She sort of took over where Stephenie Myers didn’t finish. Anyway take a look for yourself!

During the show, Kiva chose four songs from the bands that she has interviewed and we have on our rotation. Here are the songs she chose and the reasons she chose them:

LEE MACDOUGALL – FALLING IN LOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME

http://www.leemacdougallmusic.com/

Falling in Love for the Last Time by Lee MacDougall – Lee is embarking on his second US Tour and this is the song that introduced me to him after it was widely speculated to be about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Lee had written a song for Rob’s movie, How to Be.

OPPOSITE THE SATELLITE – SYNOPSIS

http://www.reverbnation.com/oppositethesatellite

Synopsis by OTS. I chose it because I am so proud of the progress they are making as a band, signing with a producer and making videos. They are a great group of guys who work hard on their music and it has a very professional sound.

CHAD CAVANAUGH – SEXY BROWN EYES

http://chadcavanaughmusic.blogspot.com/

Sexy, Dark Brown Eyes. I chose it because I like Chad’s voice and sincerity in the way he sings and because I grew up being the girl that always wanted blue eyes. This song proves men love girls with dark brown eyes.

LEE SEFAR – IM HERE

http://www.leesafar.com/Home.html

I’m Here by Lee Safar – Lee was the first musician I interviewed and this is the song that introduced me to her after I found out it was considered but not chosen for the New Moon soundtrack. She is working on a new album right now and there will be a new remix of this song.

Kiva, also told us about her work she has been doing in the tornado ravaged state of Alabama and the MAGNOLIA DISASTER RELIEF FUND http://www.facebook.com/pages/Magnolia-Disaster-Relief/144667118939142
